Trash to Treasure Campus-Wide Garage Sale - Sunday, August 27th!
(There will be a free pile at this event.)

Trash to Treasure Campus-Wide Garage Sale - Sunday, August 27th!

With the beginning of school just around the corner, the UT Campus Environmental Center is welcoming everyone back with the second annual Trash to Treasure Campus-Wide Garage Sale, presented by the University Co-op and Stor Self Storage. We have a basketball court full of stuff to sell for cheap, including school supplies, clothing, electronics, sporting goods, bedding, kitchenware, decor, and over 100 pieces of furniture!

The sale will take place on Sunday, August 27th from 8AM-4PM at the UT RecSports Center. You can get in early (from 8-10 AM) for only $4/adults and $2/students - it's worth it to get the best deals!

After 10 AM admission is FREE. Parking is free all day in the "C" lots near 20th and San Jacinto. All funds raised support campus environmental programs, like aluminum and plastic recycling.

For more information, go to www.UTsale.com

Volunteers Needed!
Also, we are in need of volunteers! Volunteers will get an exclusive sale preview on Saturday, August 26 and will get an early bird pass to the sale on Sunday. We have 3-4 hour shifts available from Friday August 25 through Monday August 28. Jobs will include moving, sorting, organizing, pricing, helping customers, and drawing the sale to a close on Sunday. For more information or to sign up, please contact Nancy Shackelford at nshack@gmail.com or sign up at www.UTsale.com !

NEED COUCH/LOVESEAT/BOTH
Hi,

If you or anyone you know are throwing out their couches, PLEASE contact me. I'm in desperate need for a couch (a set couch and loveseat would be AWESOME) but literally have no money. It doesn't need to be in the greatest shape; I'm willing to do some cleaning/patching up. Please, nothing that's in HORRIBLE shape (e.g. bugs in it, it's been outside for a long period of time, something almost impossible to be in sitting condition/in a home no matter efforts to clean). I have a truck to pick anything up in.

If you (or someone you know) just got new couches and are getting rid of their old used set that's probably too old to sell, or you're just really generous people who can afford not to sell their used couch, PLEASE let me know.

Thanks,
Kate

Freecycle Alternative :: GigoIt!
Greetings,

I am writing to invite you to be a tester for our Freecycle Alternative, Non-Profit Company. We are currently looking for ALPHA and BETA testers for our new website. Here is everything you should need to know to see if you might be interested.

Thanks again!

-----------------------------------------------------------------

Individuals and organizations are regularly faced with the problem of deciding what to do with items that still may be useful but that they no longer want. They can also find themselves suddenly in need of an item without being financially capable of purchasing it. GigoIt, Inc. is a nonprofit organization founded in Saint Louis, Missouri. We are currently developing a free public web space for individuals and corporations to donate and receive unwanted items within their neighborhoods. This keeps useful products out of landfills and fosters community involvement.

HERE IS WHAT GIGOIT HAS TO OFFER

* A single account to use nationwide. Access GigoIt services wherever you are.

* Results tailored to the proximity of a zip code that you specify.

* Communication filtering. Users may control the medium and frequency of messages.

* Search by category, date range, item status, photo inclusion and much more.

* Individual or Organization accounts. GigoIt is tailored to be convenient to all parties.

* No Moderators. The site is maintained organically by its users.

* GigoIt Rating System. To promote user trust and responsibility.

* Local Service portal. If GigoIt isn’t your donating solution, we’ll help you find what is.

Users are our focus. Research, focus groups, and our own experiences have fueled the development of and ideas behind GigoIt thus far. We believe that our site should be grown by the people who will be using it, and the users will heavily impact the direction and services GigoIt will provide.

THERE ARE SEVERAL WAYS TO HELP

We feel very strongly that our site should be grown by the people who will be using it. For this reason, we are asking for your input as we begin development with our site. Visit http://www.GigoIt.org and click the "Signup to be a part of GigoIt" link on the bottom of the page.
